Bainbridge Island is small, doesn’t have a huge town within its bounds, and is in general quiet, peaceful, lovely place to visit. That being said, there aren’t a ton of places to stay on this island just across the Puget Sound from Seattle. Perhaps because hotels and inns come in limited quantities, the island makes sure what it does have to offer is worth it. And – bonus – the places to stay on Bainbridge Island generally offer a uniquely Bainbridge twist on your stay, whether that’s free tickets to some local attractions or situating you right in the heart of a quaint town or even locating your getaway on a farm.

The Eagle Harbor Inn
If you want to stay right in the town of Winslow and within walking distance of the ferry dock, The Eagle Harbor Inn is your best and really only bet for an actual hotel in this area. However, don’t count on this inn feeling like your average hotel. There are only five rooms as well as two townhomes available for overnight stays. Each room is unique so choose wisely and read through the amenities in each one before you make a choice. Rooms range from the more basic Grand Forest with no view, to the Rockaway Beach with views in three directions and a soaking tub, to the townhomes that have perks like a private garage, private patio, and more. All the accommodations center around a central courtyard with a fountain and pretty foliage, and the inn serves cookies and coffee and tea in the morning.
Marshall Suites
When we visited, we stayed at Marshall Suites and loved it. The rooms are cleanly decorated, have mini fridges and microwaves (my new requirements for all hotel rooms now that I have a toddler), and offer a few different room types. We stayed in a Queen Suite, which had both a queen sized bed in its own bedroom as well as a pull-out sleeper sofa, which is just a lovely set up if you’re traveling with kids who need to go to bed a lot earlier than you want to go to bed. Other perks of the hotel included a full buffet breakfast in the morning as well as free tickets to local attractions. At the time of our visit, the hotel offered two tickets per attraction per day, which we got all during check in. If you stay here, make sure to ask about these tickets when you check in as they are a sweet deal. The location of the hotel requires a very short drive to get to the ferry dock or heart of Winslow (we’re talking maybe two minutes tops).
The Inn at Pleasant Beach
One of the most beautiful places to stay on Bainbridge Island, The Inn at Pleasant Beach is located a little ways away from Winslow and its shops, but is tucked into Pleasant Beach Village, which has its own shops and restaurants to explore. The inn itself is adorable with 12 lovely rooms with balconies overlooking the water, private decks, greenbelt views, and other individual details in each room that help customize your stay, meaning take a look through all the available rooms and their perks before you book. There’s no front desk and just about everything is automated. Rooms come with gas fireplaces, mini fridges and coffee bars, and the inn has an outdoor pool and hot tub. If you really love it, you can even live at the Pleasant Beach community as there are homes to buy as well. Vacation doesn’t have to end ever.
Quality Inn and Suites
Quality Inn and Suites (formerly Bainbridge Island Country Inn) is located close to Highway 305 and there are some shops and restaurants nearby (namely Safeway if you like grab-and-go meals for your hotel room and both Bene Pizza and Westside Pizza are nearby too). Like Marshall Suites, this is a good place to stay if you don’t mind not being right on the water and are looking for a more affordable place to stay. You can start your day with the hotel’s breakfast, and in the afternoon they put out cookies in the lobby for a sweet snack. Rooms have the usual coffee makers, free Wi-Fi, free newspapers, and other common amenities, and the hotel has an outdoor pool open seasonally.
Holly Lane Gardens Bed and Breakfast
If hotels aren’t quite your style and you prefer a place that’s quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, Holly Lane Gardens is a good spot to consider with its nine acres of pure country goodness filled with gardens and wildlife. Breakfast is served each morning, and common areas include a hot tub, outdoor fire pits, and library areas. Each room or suite has its own unique theme. Bonus, guests can participate in farm life as much as they’d like, from feeding the animals to gathering eggs to to harvesting.
Heydey Farm
Heydey Farm is another farm-bed and breakfast on Bainbridge Island with 25 acres of farmland, gardens, and event space. Stay in a historic farmhouse from the 1890s that’s been fully restored in a way that makes the rooms feel both modernized yet still keep some of their farmhouse charm. The grounds include trails, farm animals, lavender and berry bushes, and more than will make you feel like you’re in a rural paradise…and yet there’s also Wi-Fi so it’s a nice balance.
